HEP: Installation Submission Checklist

In this guide, you’ll get come to understand the full scope of our quality control requirements. In this article we will present photo requirements, descriptions, and examples needed to complete the Install Package submission. It covers three key components:

  • Install Package Documentation

  • New System Photos

  • Start Up and Commissioning Photos

To complete Install Package submission under the HEP program, every project must include a Work Order or Home Improvement Contract, Load Calculation Report and Installer Checklist or Supporting Documents.

Work Order or Home Improvement Contract

  • Upload a copy of your contract with the homeowner. This is most often an Install Contract, but can also be a Home Improvement Contract, a Work Order, signed Invoice, or similar document with installed equipment details and pricing.

Load Calculation Report

  • Complete report, in PDF format.

    • No screenshots please.

Indoor System Overview Photo(s)

A single photo or multiple photos, if needed, to show the following items:

  • Furnace

  • Air Handler and Coil

  • Mounting and Orientation of equipment

  • Duct connections

  • Low voltage wiring

  • High voltage wiring

  • Venting (if applicable)

  • Auxiliary drain (if applicable)

  • Condensate pan (if applicable)

In situations where the full scope of work cannot be seen in one photo, multiple photos will be required

Furnace/Air Handler Data Tag

Model and Serial number required

A single photo of the data tag or data plate from the furnace or air handler should clearly show the model number, serial number, and any OEM technical data (if applicable).

A single photo showing the whole condenser from 5 feet away taken from in front or beside the equipment. This photo should include the following:

  • Condenser Clearances

  • Refrigerant Lines

Include photos of the data tag (if applicable) to show the model and serial number of the installed accessory. In the event a data tag is not present on an accessory the minimum photo requirement is to show an overall photo of that accessory after it has been installed.

Zone Dampers

Photos of accessories are to be included in the install package when accessories are present in the work order or system design. Include photos of the data tag (if applicable) to show the model and serial number of the installed accessory. In the event a data tag is not present on an accessory the minimum photo requirement is to show an overall photo of that accessory after it has been installed.

  • Media Cabinet - The filter size should be shown in the photo or written on the commissioning documents.

  • UV Light - When applicable the model and serial number of the UV light should be provided via photo. When no data tag is present a photo of this accessory installed correctly will satisfy the photo requirement.

  • Humidifier - When applicable the model and serial number of the humidifier should be provided via photo. When no data tag is present a photo of this accessory installed correctly will satisfy the photo requirement.

  • Dehumidifier - When applicable the model and serial number of the dehumidifier should be provided via photo. When no data tag is present a photo of this accessory installed correctly will satisfy the photo requirement.

  • Other: Accessories not listed above, but approved by LightReach will fall under the same requirements as all other accessories listed above.

Return Air Temperature

Return air temperature should be measured at the indoor unit in the return duct with a digital or Bluetooth in-duct thermometer.
