Updated over a week ago

This article explains the process of completing the system design in the Palmetto LightReach portal for the Home Efficiency Program (HEP). It provides an overview of the available residential system categories, along with descriptions and visuals for each type.

When you select a system category in the portal, typical equipment options will automatically populate in the Equipment and Materials section.

Dual Fuel Split System

A split system that combines a heat pump with a gas furnace. The heat pump provides efficient heating and cooling in mild weather, and the gas furnace kicks in during colder temperatures for better efficiency and comfort.

Heat Pump Split System

Uses an outdoor heat pump and an indoor air handler to provide both heating and cooling. In heating mode, it extracts heat from outside air; in cooling mode, it works like a standard air conditioner.
